It could very well be that the electricity used to charge that Tesla comes from burning fossil fuels... It could also come from wind power or solar.

I know I always cringe when electric cars are described as zero emission vehicles. Usually they aren't and need a huge asterix next to the claim.

Unless they charge the car on solar at home I think coal, nulear etc.. are very likely. My house has solar and I make more than I use so I could do that. I'm not driving one of those.

On a semi-related note, I met the owner of a Tesla Roadster at cars & coffee this past weekend and he was super nice, so at least we know they're not all assholes :P
